Search for new food channels and similar type of food based on demographics, language and consumption behaviour, product type, channels, niche and type of TV, multiple channels, TV stations, program schedule and type of advertisements.

All food channel ideas will be a combination of some type of name, anchor voice, description and food group(s) name.

When it comes to food channels, we’ve come a long way. In decades past, there wasn’t a food channel for every mood and occasion.

It wasn’t uncommon for a channel like Bravo to run shows that barely made it into my Facebook feed. There was no TV network dedicated to fine dining.

While we now have enough food channels for everyone to choose from, the modern food channel still faces some unique challenges.

The channels are often overloaded with content that’s designed for many different types of viewers

high in the sky

Food TV fans might crave low-calorie desserts and low-carb, Paleo, vegetarian, and paleo recipes.

Other viewers might have a heightened sensitivity for gluten, trans fats, MSG, or GMO ingredients. The biggest challenge is the niche audience the channels serve.

Food TV also benefits from the influence of social media. Brands have figured out how to reach potential customers directly.

Consumers are well aware of the fact that brands have paid to promote content, and they take notice when they’re getting attention from influential people.

For example, the people on TLC’s “What Not to Wear” are on a television program dedicated to helping other women.

Do you see how food channels can gain exposure through social media?

Food channels are still figuring out how to maximize the power of social media.

There are some challenges. There’s no need to create a generic food channel name that you can use on different food channels.

Instead, explore your ideas of what you’d like the brand to be known for. It’s better to have a brand identity than a generic brand name.

This is even more important when the channel is specialized. Some of the biggest brands in food are owned by companies that serve all types of food.

For example, Starbucks was created through the merger of two coffee chains.

How many times have you heard someone mention that there are too many food channels?

But even more importantly, how many times have you heard someone say they don’t know what channel they belong on, which is also a negative situation?

Of course, there are too many channels and it can be a struggle to find one that you think really suits your brand.

But if you are in the process of developing a food business and are still looking for a name, take a few moments and check out some of these fantastic ideas.
