The other day I was doing some research for this article and came across something very interesting. It was the caption to a photo showing two people holding hands as they walked down an outdoor sidewalk.
The couple in the picture were both white, and one of them had their hand covered with a black glove. They also looked like they were having fun so it set off my curiosity.
I wanted to know what kind of cultural exchange happened here? Was there any indication that either person didn’t like the other first or anything along those lines?
By watching their body language, I could tell that these people knew each other well so I assumed they are friends at least. Plus, they seemed comfortable around each other which is always a good thing!
Overall, I thought this image displayed how important friendship is and how even little things can matter. Having someone you can trust really helps you get through life so if you have a friend like this then you should try to bring more things up about yourself and your personal life.

There are many ways in which cultures blend together. What words people speak, what music they listen to, how they dress, etc. are all examples of this. These things can either be native to their country or influenced by other countries.
In fact, some would say that American culture has been heavily influenced by European ones. For instance, you have your use of punctuation like commas and semicolons, the way most Americans organize sentences, and even the way we address each other and talk.
Another example is our love for sports. We get much of our inspiration from Europe where it’s very popular. Teams and leagues are built around national flags so the British soccer team is always going to get more attention than the French one.
Something similar happens with hockey. The United States version is called ice hockey but the game was actually invented in France! It just became popular here because there’t really a football (soccer) here.

This noodle bowl comes with three main components: rice noodles, chicken broth and meat (either beef or pork). The sauce in this version consists of fermented soybeans, chili paste and roasted sesame oil.
The Chinese refer to this type of soup as zhōngzhū mǔtóu bún (). To most Westerners, it may look like stir-fry style soup but what makes this unique is the addition of Korean ingredients into the mix.
The next element to consider is what ingredients make up this Japanese noodle dish. To most non-Japanese, it may seem that almost every region has some kind of ramen in their cuisine, but that’s not necessarily the case.
In Japan, there are five main noodles that can be mixed into many different recipes. These include udon (white wheat pasta), soba (buckwheat pasta) with either chicken or pork broth, rice noodles, fried noodles, and tsukudani (dried noodles).
Udon and soba dishes usually have toppings such as green onion, cucumber, nori (aka seaweed), roasted garlic, oil, sesame seeds, and dried vegetables like carrots and mushrooms. On top of these, there can also be grilled meat, fresh herbs, and/or seafood.
Rice noodles are typically stir-fried and topped with fermented soybeans, pickled veggies, and sometimes meat. They’re great additions to any cookbook!
Frying noodles is totally unique to Asian cuisine, and not everyone loves it. Some people find it too heavy or overly salty. That said, if you love crispy noodles, then give it a try!
Tsukudani was mentioned earlier, but worth mentioning again is how much flavor they pack in.

One important component to understanding how this recipe is an example of cultural exchange is looking at the ingredients. You can tell if someone has cultures they are sharing their knowledge with by what kind of foods they love and how well they know them.
The natives in this case are the people from India so we will look into some recipes that include Indian spices and also some vegetarian dishes. For Westerners, there are two things that come up time and time again when trying these recipes- one is how delicious the food tastes and the other is how versatile the ingredient list is.
Some of the main components of this dish include tomatoes, potatoes, onions and mushrooms which all taste good separately and together! All of those items can be enjoyed alone or mixed into something else. Having those individual flavorings makes it easy to just mix and match according to your personal preferences.
Another thing about this article is the variety of spiciness. Some of the more popular flavors in this article start with a chili powder which contains salt and then some cumin or paprika depending on whether it’s made with dried or fresh peppers.

Having enough paratha or naan to share with your friends is very important! If you are hungry, they will be hungry so make sure you have enough for them to enjoy.
There are many ways to prepare Indian food and what kind of ingredients you use in your recipes is up to you! Different people grow up eating different things and this makes it hard to find common ground.
When traveling outside of India, it can get tiring trying to find restaurants that serve local dishes or authentic Indian cuisine. It’s best to just go into a restaurant and ask how their curry chicken aloo (curried potatoes) was before ordering yours!
Most Indians order either plain rice or bread along with their meal and then add vegetables and spices as toppings. Others may mix and match various types of veggie sides and meat such as lamb, beef, or pork along with the rice/bread.

All of these ingredients in this recipe are either Asian or Latin American influenced. A few even have some European influence too! The final product, however, is something that we can call a hybrid- it has many cultures infused into it.
The first thing to note about this pasta salad is that it is not made with fresh pasta. Rather, dried spaghetti gives the noodle shape extra strength so that it will hold up while being consumed and mixed into the other ingredients.
Next, you will need one half cup each of red bell pepper, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and green olives. To make the Italian dressing, mix together three parts olive oil, one part balsamic vinegar, and two parts ketchup in a jar until well combined.
To make the crunch element, add one cup dry bread crumbs to the cooked pasta and let sit for five minutes before mixing into the rest of the ingredients.

Recent trends in international cuisine have been characterized as “globalized” or even “neo-internationalism,” referring to dishes that feature ingredients from all over the world. A well known example is Japan’s sushi, which was never truly Japanese nor did it exist before Westerners ate it!
A lot of these new foods are either straightforward translations (Korean barbecue!), recipes made with non-traditional flavors (like pomegranate for dessert!) or concepts like umami, or savory taste that many people enjoy.
These types of diets can help increase your knowledge of other cultures while also giving you some new culinary experiences. And though they may be expensive at first, they are good sources of vitamins and minerals and will cost less in the long run.

This past weekend, I was in downtown Chicago for some event filming when one of my best friends called me to tell me that she found something very interesting.
She had been walking around shopping with her mother and they came across this curious looking soup-like thing at a restaurant. Her mom thought it looked weird but your average twenty something probably wouldn’t recognize it as anything special.
Heck, even I didn’t know what it was until just now! But once I did, I got pretty excited because I knew exactly what kind of cultural exchange it represented.
It’s a chicken noodle soup and it’s totally unique
You see, there are many similar recipes for chicken noodle soup out there. Many people have their own take on it, which is why most people can identify it easily.
But here’s the funny part – this particular recipe isn’t actually chicken noodles soup! It has no pasta or noodles in it! That’s definitely not traditional either!
What is in this strange soupy concoction then? Well, it’s mostly boneless, skinless chicken breast mixed into a creamy broth mixture that is served over rice and vegetables.
