There is no greater feeling than walking into a movie set and expecting to perform. It’s like being invited to a party with a very specific purpose in mind.
You make friends while making your presence known and get noticed at the same time.
There is an elation you feel that can’t be matched when you are welcomed into the group.
You are appreciated for your efforts because you know you deserve it.
Then, as the party goes on you realize you belong there, you belong in that scene with those people, you belong with that person.
This is the actor’s life, there are no rewards just rewards.
Success comes as a result of discipline, hard work, and a ton of practice
You can never truly reach the top without a platform, without a true passion for it.
The actor’s journey is long, frustrating, and confusing but once you figure out your calling, everything else will fall into place.
Remember that actors and actresses are the stars of their own movies, if they don’t feel they are being treated fairly they won’t get anywhere.
It’s not possible to have full control over the jobs you accept or the jobs you turn down.
Sometimes, you must play the waiting game to find your true calling.
Becoming a successful actor is a mental challenge as well
Since you are an actor, you are definitely going to come face to face with rejection over the course of your career.
As a proud mental challenge, don’t let rejection get you down. You may be rejected once in a blue moon but eventually, you will run into that individual that you can trust completely.
When that happens you know you are good. People like you.
They think your work is strong. You may not be sitting on that A-list movie set with Taylor Lautner, you may not be a household name, but at the end of the day, you know who you are.
Enjoy it all. You never know when the right person may make the connection that changes your life forever.
Take advantage of your unique personality and the gifts you have to offer. When you feel most alive is when you are creating.
When you have the strength to say no, to speak up, to make your voice heard. There is an abundance of power to harness when you are creative.
Success is definitely a challenge, but it’s a challenge that you can overcome.
This is the road to success, no matter how many obstacles you will face along the way. Follow your dreams.
Believe in yourself. And remember, don’t be afraid to be yourself.
Your uniqueness is what makes you special.
Being an actor is no easy feat
To become a success in the entertainment industry means battling insecurity, facing rejection, overcoming difficult times, and learning to grow.
Becoming an actor means being the lead role in a film, holding the attention of thousands of people with your voice, body, and presence.
It’s not easy being in the spotlight and no matter how good you are at your craft you will always come across people who don’t understand or appreciate your work.
While the focus is usually on the stars, the attention often shifts away from those that make it all happen.
A successful actor or actress has to endure much pain, emotional distress, and rejection before they even make it to that position.
The actors and actresses I’ve been lucky enough to meet share one thing in common, they love what they do.
They love their passion. They wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for their passion.
They constantly work at their craft. They are selfless, dedicated, and incredibly hardworking.
They sacrifice their relationships for their career. If you want to become successful at what you love, you have to make sacrifices.
If you want to work in the entertainment industry, you have to sacrifice time with your family.
You have to sacrifice free time for work. Sometimes, you have to give up everything you’ve ever known.
But the payoff is always worth it.
The truth is, there is no “magic pill” or magic formula to success
You will face rejection in this industry and it will get the best of you at times.
But, like anything in life, it is important to face rejection and move past it. It is a learned behavior and you must learn to embrace it and use it as fuel for your fire.
It’s okay to get hurt. People in the industry are not all positive or supportive. Some want to take advantage of you.
It’s not easy to have critics, it’s not easy to find people in your industry who appreciate you.
It’s not easy to be a woman in Hollywood, as many in the industry, even women, don’t appreciate your talent or willingness to be a part of it.
