Many beginner guitarists attempt to be the best electric guitar player they can be but never become good at it.
This may be because they aren’t practicing enough, aren’t listening to good music, or aren’t learning how to improvise.
If you are just starting, or have been playing for a while but are not good yet, then read this article. It will give you some amazing advice and tips that will take you far.
Most of the advice I write about will not come from teaching other guitar players what to do, but from things I have learned myself.
I also use what I have learned to guide and help musicians I know to be better guitarists.
The first thing to understand is that playing the guitar is a talent, just like being an athlete or a famous actor
To become the best guitar player in the world, you need to have a talent for it. You cannot just jump in there and become great if you’re not really good yet.
If you have a talent for learning guitar then it doesn’t take long before you start to be better than your peers at it.
The way I help people learn guitar is that I want to break down each skill that you need to learn and then help you learn it.
I have found that the best way to do this is to focus on the fundamentals and then you will develop your skills faster.
If you read the free Ultimate Guitar Guide to Choosing the Right Electric Guitar then you will find information on how to choose a guitar, along with some free downloads to help you practice.
I will talk more about this later, but for now, I will show you how to develop your guitar playing so that you can become better at it.
There are tons of great guitar players in the world but everyone’s skill level is different. If you want to get better at guitar then you need to first think about your skill level.
Once you do this, the rest is up to you.
Developing your gear
You must indeed spend a lot of money to become a good musician but you will not become any better without good gear.
The same goes for any musician but guitarists have to spend more to get a good-sounding guitar and then work out the “issues” that come with it.
You will not make any real progress without good equipment. I get emails and messages every day from people telling me how they are wasting thousands of dollars on gear that doesn’t work for them.
This is a myth that needs to be debunked because this is a waste of money. You want to know why? It’s because you are paying for something that you don’t really need.
Most new guitar players go out and buy a guitar that has a flashy finish and expensive pickups.
They think it will make them a better guitarist, but they don’t know what they are getting into.
They end up buying all sorts of equipment and then when they aren’t happy with it they get rid of it and go get another one.
They keep getting confused and doing the same thing over and over again.
If you want to learn to play the guitar then you need to spend a lot of time and money to get a quality guitar, but you do not need to spend a ton of money.
You can buy a guitar that is under $300 or a guitar that is $1500 but it won’t matter unless you spend your time learning it.
If you can take the time to learn how to play the guitar then you will get better at it and in time you will be able to buy something more expensive.
Some people like to see the difference in equipment when they look at what a guitar looks like, but this is an incorrect way of looking at it.
Learn what the basic parameters are
If you know what the basic parameters are then you will know where to look when you need to buy something.
A simple example would be to buy a guitar because it has a nicer finish.
To find out what the basic parameters are you will need to find a good guitar book.
These are books that will teach you the basics of the guitar. I highly recommend picking up a good book at Guitar Center.
How much you spend on gear is up to you, but you don’t have to spend more than you really need to make the guitar sound better.
Study real instructional videos
The way to learn how to play guitar is by watching instructional videos.
A lot of people waste a lot of time watching worthless videos on the internet that have a lot of people giving advice.
If you don’t get any type of instruction then you won’t know how to play guitar, and you will probably quit in a few months.
So, instead of wasting your time looking at these videos, just start watching real instructionals.
Learn the basics
Before you can learn how to play guitar you will need to learn the basics.
You don’t have to know every single instrument out there to learn how to play guitar, but you will need to know a few of the basics.
For example, if you have only ever played an acoustic guitar then you will need to learn about the types of acoustic guitar you will need to learn how to play.
If you are just learning how to play guitar then you will need to learn about the guitar strings and how to play.
