Micron’s HBM has been specifically chosen to power Nvidia’s formidable GB200 and GB300 Blackwell architectures.

Nvidia’s recent first-quarter fiscal 2026 results showcased a monumental 73% year-over-year surge in data center revenue, hitting $39 billion, with the new Blackwell AI GPUs accounting for a dominant 70% of that segment.

As Nvidia aggressively transitions from its previous-generation Hopper platform to the more powerful Blackwell architecture, the implications for Micron are profound.

The sheer volume of HBM required by these new GPUs is a testament to the escalating demands of AI.

Nvidia’s Hopper H200 GPU incorporated 141 gigabytes (GB) of HBM.

Its successor, the B200 Blackwell processor, elevates this to 192 GB, while the more potent B300 packs a colossal 288 GB of HBM3e memory.

During its March earnings call, Micron management subtly hinted at its critical role, noting the commencement of volume shipments of HBM3e memory to its “third large customer”—a thinly veiled reference that market observers interpret as a clear sign of its supply to Nvidia’s latest generation processors.

Beyond the sheer volume, the scarcity of high-performance HBM has created an exceptionally favorable pricing environment for suppliers like Micron.

Reports suggest the company is looking to increase the price of its HBM chips by 11% this year, a clear sign of its newfound pricing power.

Tellingly, Micron has already sold out its entire HBM capacity for 2025 and is actively negotiating contracts for the following year.

In a market where demand far outstrips supply, customers are more than willing to pay a premium for this indispensable component.

This potent combination of soaring HBM volumes and the potential for higher prices is the fundamental engine driving the anticipated remarkable growth in Micron’s top and bottom lines.

The HBM story extends beyond Nvidia, signaling a broader industry shift.

Other major chipmakers, including Broadcom and Marvell Technology, renowned for designing custom AI processors for leading cloud computing companies, have recently developed architectures that support the integration of HBM into their platforms.

This expansion of HBM adoption across the AI ecosystem means that Micron’s addressable market is set to widen considerably, laying the groundwork for an accelerated growth trajectory that few could have predicted just a few years ago.

Despite its impressive recent rally, Micron’s valuation metrics suggest that its stock may still offer significant upside.

Trading at 23 times trailing earnings, and an even more attractive 9 times forward earnings, the market appears to be underestimating the sheer force of its projected earnings growth.

Consensus estimates are nothing short of astounding, forecasting a colossal 437% increase in Micron’s earnings this year, followed by another robust jump of 57% in the next fiscal year.

Such explosive growth rates rarely remain unreflected in stock prices for long.

The median 12-month price target for Micron’s stock currently stands at $130, implying a 27% jump from current levels.

However, given the phenomenal earnings trajectory and the foundational role HBM plays in the ongoing AI revolution, many analysts believe this AI stock could do much better.

As the June 25 report approaches, the stage is set for what could be a watershed moment for Micron, potentially supercharging its recent rally and solidifying its position as an indispensable architect of the artificial intelligence future.
